I
stood on the half-landing at the turn in the stairs and watched the sun rise
into the sky. It was immeasurably more beautiful than the partial eclipse.
If
you are reading this, you have been given the incomparable gift of life, the
miracle of a new day, that has never been given before and will never be given
again.
May
your joy open you to that which is beyond, and greater than, yourself.
May
your pain lead you to the end of yourself.
May
your To-Do list bring you to your knees.
And
there, may you discover that you are Loved.
May
you meet the God who created you; who has rescued you from the powers of
darkness; who sustains you daily; who provides for your every need, and more
than you could ever ask or imagine; who leads you into all freedom, and further
along the Way of Life in all its fullness, if you will only dare to follow; who
fights your battles; who sings over you with sheer delight; who surrounds you
with goodness and utterly faithful loving-kindness.
May
you have a good day, whatever this day might bring.
