I do not need Jesus because I am a sinner.
That would be to reduce the glorious Prince of heaven to the solution to an
inconvenient problem.
Rather, I need Jesus as the sun needs the sky,
because he is my ground of being. And because I recognise that I am a sinner,
I am able to welcome his mercy and grace.
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a
sinner.
