Why are the disciples’
feet dirty?
Because they have
been following Jesus.
Disciples were those
who ‘walked in the dust’ thrown up by their rabbi’s feet.
The disciples’ dirty
feet are a sign of their being disciples.
Jesus is no longer
with us in body. And we wear shoes. But we are called to be disciples who make
disciples. So, whose footsteps are you following in, as you follow after Jesus?
And who is following
you?
Who are you learning
from in the way of faith? (It takes humility to let someone wash your feet.)
And who is learning
from you in the way of faith? (It takes humility to wash the feet of others.)
