A busy social calendar is transpiring to come between me and my watching the second Ashes test match. Sometimes there's just no consideration for introverts! Today we were in Bolton to celebrate my sister-in-law's birthday (still managed to catch a lot of the afternoon and evening sessions of day one, though. A first innings of 407-all-out is a great improvement on England's performance in the first test; still, I would have preferred to see them still batting at the start of day two).
Tomorrow we head to Hull for the weekend, to celebrate the wedding of two of our friends. Two nights in a hotel, with the kids in an adjoining room...heaven! And on Monday (should the match still be going on by the fifth day) we're out again.
