What is the taste of motherhood
if not meals half-abandoned
left to go cold, while she attends her child?
What is the taste of motherhood
if not a meal eaten in haste, left on the table
as her brood is gathered-up and bundled out the door?
What is the taste of motherhood
if not exodus? For motherhood reflects
the Mother-heart of God.
