Restlessness

The greatest moral failing of church leaders in the UK is their refusal to rest.  Are we really more indispensible than God?  The problem is endemic.  If it were thought to be endemic that church leaders were shagging their neighbour’s wife/husband, or embezzling the collection, there would be an insistence, by both clergy and laity, that things needed to be addressed.  But the endemic state of restlessness is accepted as a given; and even (and especially by bishops) held up as a virtue.
